After departing from Port Allen Harbor, we cruise along the coastline toward Nāpali, where you’ll take in panoramic views of sea cliffs, hidden beaches, waterfalls, and sea caves. As conditions allow, we get in close to the coastline so you can fully experience the details that make this area so special. Both tours follow the same route along the Nāpali Coast and include the same dinner, drinks, storytelling, and overall experience. The 3.5-hour Nāpali Sunset Dinner Tour is operated on Holoholo, our 65-foot powered catamaran, offering the fastest route to and from the coastline.

The 4.5-hour Nāpali Sunset Sail is operated on Leila, our 50-foot sailing catamaran. Because Leila travels at a slower pace, we allow extra time to reach the coast—and when conditions permit, we’ll raise the sails for a more traditional and relaxed sailing experience.

If you’re looking for a quicker, efficient trip, Holoholo is a great choice. If you prefer a more leisurely pace with the possibility of sailing, Leila offers a more laid-back experience.

Niʻihau is a privately owned island, and access is restricted. On our Niʻihau & Nāpali Super Tour, you’ll have the opportunity to view portions of Niʻihau’s coastline while our crew shares history and legends about the area.

We typically snorkel at Lehua Crater, just off the coast of Niʻihau, which is known for clear water and vibrant marine life. Out of respect for the island and its native inhabitants, we do not approach or set foot on shore at any time.

This approach allows you to experience the beauty and remoteness of the area while honoring its cultural significance.

No, we do not make any shore landings along the Nāpali Coast.

The Nāpali Coast is remote and largely inaccessible by land, with limited and highly restricted landing areas. Our tours are designed to explore the coastline from the water, allowing you to experience sea caves, waterfalls, valleys, and cliffs up close while remaining safely offshore.

The Nāpali Coast can be accessed by boat, helicopter, or hiking—there is no road access to this part of Kauaʻi.

It does make for an early start, but you’ll return by mid-afternoon—leaving plenty of time to relax or enjoy the rest of your day (even if that means a well-earned nap!).

No, there is no road access to the Nāpali Coast.

This remote and rugged coastline can only be experienced by boat, helicopter, or hiking. Access by foot requires the full Kalalau Trail and a permit for extended hikes or camping.

The Nāpali Coast is located on the northwest shore of Kauaʻi.

This rugged and breathtaking coastline is known for its towering cliffs, deep valleys, waterfalls, and rich history and legends. Because there is no road access, it can only be experienced by boat, helicopter, hiking, or from scenic overlooks in Kōkeʻe State Park.

Each viewpoint offers something unique, but seeing the Nāpali Coast from the ocean provides an especially memorable, up-close perspective of this iconic landscape.

Kalalau Beach can only be accessed by hiking, kayaking (in summer conditions), or viewed by boat or helicopter—there is no road access.

The most direct way to reach the beach is via the Kalalau Trail, an 11-mile hike along the Nāpali Coast that is considered very challenging. Permits are required for hiking beyond Hanakāpīʻai and for camping, and access to the trailhead requires advance parking permits or shuttle reservations.

During the summer months, experienced kayakers may access Kalalau Beach by paddling the Nāpali Coast when ocean conditions allow. Boat and helicopter tours offer incredible views of the beach from the water or air, but landings are not permitted.

Due to safety regulations and environmental protections, it is illegal for boats to land, pick up, or drop off passengers at Kalalau Beach.
